What To Expect
Our services begin at 10am each Sunday, except on 5th Sundays. We also have a wonderful Sunday School program at 9am each Sunday. Our services are casual and comfortable, and generally last about an hour and a half. We enjoy high praise, and encourage everyone to participate. We also begin each worship service with ‘devotions’, or an uplifting period of time where attendees can share a song or a testimony.
ATTIRE
Dress is casual. We care more about the condition of your soul, than your style of clothing. While the church leadership (deacons, deaconess and ministers) are asked to be dressed uniformly for certain occasions, this is not required for general members. We do ask that you dress respectfully, not dawning logos, images or language that are profane, or contrary to the principles of the church. Otherwise, just bring your shouting shoes and come ready to give God glory.

ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT
At St. Stevens, we recognize that we’re all sinners, saved by grace (Romans 3:23). Each of us are on our own spiritual journey, and we grow at different speeds. As such, we stress the principle of ‘No Condemnation’ (Romans 8:1). You’ll find an environment where your past mistakes are irrelevant, and your growth and maturity in Christ, is the priority. We are committed to being a church that encourages, and supports those in our midst. And while we do hold one another accountable, to live holy and to ‘walk the talk’, we do so in love, understanding that everyone has to start somewhere. We will grow, together (Acts 2:42).
SOUND TEACHING
St. Stevens prioritizes sound biblical teaching. We have a pastor, as well as supporting leadership, that continue to pray and study, to ensure our members are receiving accurate, sound biblical instruction (2 Timothy 2:15). With multiple bible studies available, as well as a very informative and interactive Sunday School, there’s no shortage of opportunities to learn and grow with other believers.
COMMUNITY AND FELLOWSHIP
St. Stevens understands how difficult it is, to make this journey alone (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). As such, we make it our business to be available to one another spiritually, but also- socially. With both a healthy Men’s Fellowship, where brothers come together for powerful conversations, and to strengthen their bonds (Psalm 133:1), and a vibrant Women’s Ministry that regularly meets to fellowship, but also unites to serve our community, we’ve established a sense of ‘family’ that is felt in every aspect of our church. We also have a thriving youth ministry, that allows our young people to be active and involved, and to feel ‘seen’ and included in the operations of the church.
AUTHENTIC WORSHIP
At St. Stevens, we encourage everyone to worship freely and comfortably. It’s quite alright to clap your hands, lift up your voice in worship, and express your love for God through open praise, singing, with tears, or however you are moved to worship. Psalm 103:1 says Bless the Lord, Oh my soul- and ALL that is within me. That includes our intellect but also, our voices and our tears. We are not judgmental believers, and we understand that breakthroughs can happen in our praise. No one will look at you funny, if you shout ‘Hallelujah’ (Psalm 100:1; Psalm 150:1-5).
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Finally, there are plenty of opportunities to use your gifts and talents at St. Stevens. From the choir, to our outreach, missionary and philanthropic efforts, there’s enough work to go around. It’s in our service to God, where the most personal growth happens. So we encourage every member to explore different areas of service, roll up your sleeves, and help us advance the Kingdom of God (Matthew 9:37; 1 Corinthians 15:58; Philippians 2:12).
