St. Stevens Baptist Church

Who We Are

At St. Stevens, we are a loving, multi-generational church. While we place a strong emphasis on discipling young families, it is our goal to minister equally and thoroughly to each demographic in our congregation. As such, our church is served by three primary branches of ministry, consisting of our Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, and Youth & Young Adult Ministry. Each of these branches receives equal attention, and benefits from dedicated ministry and focus on their unique needs.

Men’s Ministry

The first Saturday of each month, our Men’s Ministry meets at 9am, and has meaningful discussions about the unique challenges that come with being a Christian man in today’s culture. We discuss marriage, fatherhood, and our place and responsibility in society as men. These sessions are led by Rev. Vance Hall, who is a faithful teacher and leader in our church. All men are welcome to attend, regardless of your church affiliation. You’re also invited to bring young men, as these discussion are insightful and often life-changing. We also stress confidentiality, so that men can feel comfortable discussing life’s issues without reservation. Light snacks and coffee are provided.

Women’s Ministry

On the Third Saturday of each month at 8:30 am, our Women’s Ministry meets in a similar capacity. Led by Sisters Cassandra Hall and Loretta Tyler, our women enjoy biblical teaching, fellowship, relevant games and activities- that address the unique experience of being a Christian woman in today’s culture. These discussions directly address the challenges in our lives, highlight the faithfulness of God, and teach us how to most effectively apply biblical principles to our daily lives. In the process, we enjoy plenty of laughs, and sometimes- tears. The fellowship is always rich, and the food is always delicious!

Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Following Women’s Ministry on 3rd Saturday of each month, our Youth & Young Adult meet at 10:30 am for Choir rehearsal, immediately followed by ‘Pizza With Pastor’. During this time, our Pastor shares easy-to-understand biblical principles, often as a preview to Youth Sunday’s morning message, giving our young people the chance to discuss and analyze biblical principles in their own context. Along with a teaching lesson, the kids enjoy pizza and dessert, and multiple ministry-oriented games that reinforce the lessons of the day. As part of this effort, we also have a dedicated Youth Bible Study, led by Bro. Kaleb Hackley. Kaleb is one of our young adults himself, with a passion for ministry and a God-given talent for teaching and leadership.

Sunday School

At 9 am each Sunday, we have Sunday School, which is led in rotation by our deacons, deaconesses, and associate ministers. In this setting, we work through a set ministry curriculum. However, the discussions are casual, and often take on a life of their own. We dig into biblical principles, and often have lengthy discussions about how biblical themes apply to our daily lives. For many of our attendees- SSBC Sunday School is a highlight of the week, as we challenge all of our participants to be an active part of the discussions.

Power Hour

Finally, on Tuesday nights on Facebook Live, our Pastor leads ‘Power Hour’. A weekly bible study series at 7:30 pm. Here, our entire church can learn together, as he walks us through complete books of the bible, verse by verse. You are welcome to join us and watch, but also- you can be a part of the discussion by dialing in at (720) 843-2814 (passcode 561880).

In short, there is no shortage of opportunities to learn and grow. We recognize that none of us have ‘arrived’, and we all still have plenty of learning to do. We rejoice, knowing that we are surrounded by a loving church family, who we can grow with, and hold one another accountable. God is doing great things at SSBC!
