Senior Pastor
Rev. Evan Newman was born in Warrenton, Virginia and raised in nearby Leesburg. He is the oldest of three children. In 2000, by the grace and foresight of God, Evan married his high sweetheart, Joie Napper. Today they are the parents of two wonderful twin boys, Demetrius and Marcellus.
Like his father and grandfather before him, God blessed Evan with the gift of music. This gift became an outlet for ministry and a launching point for Evan’s call to preach. In 2009, Rev. Newman accepted the call to preach, and began his studies in the Washington Bible College EQUIP program (now known as Lancaster Bible College), and Regent University, pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies. He ultimately began his preaching ministry in February of 2012, and was officially ordained in July of 2018. Rev. Newman has served as an itinerate evangelist and Minister of Music at the Oak Shade Baptist Church in Catlett, VA for the past 18 years. Most recently, he was elected as Sr. Pastor of the St. Stevens Baptist Church in Culpeper, VA.
He and his family welcome your prayers, as he continues to do God's will.
